How to Calculate Cement,Sand Quantity For Plastering?
Definition:-
Plastering is a process of covering hard surfaces and uneven surfaces with a plastic material called plaster or mortar to obtain a uniform, smooth, regular, clean and durable surface.
A mixture of lime or plaster, sand and water sometimes with added fiber, which hardens to a smooth solid and is used to coat walls and ceilings.
Materials used in plaster:
- Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC)
- Lime or clay powder
- Aggregates
- Water Additives (optional)
Estimation of Wall Plaster:
Assume
Mortar Ratio = 1:6
Plaster Thickness = 12 mm = 0.012 m
Constants:
Density of Cement =1440 kg/m³
1 m³ of wall = 35.3147 ft³
Volume of Mortar = 1 x 1 x .012
= 0.012 m³ (Wet Volume)
Dry Volume of Mortar = 0.012 x 1.30 = 0.0156 m³
Quantity of Cement = 1/7 x 0.0156 x 1440
=3.21 kg = 0.064 bag.
Quantity of sand = 6/7 × 0.0156 x 35.314
=0.47 ft³.
