How the cool paint | Does heat reflective roof paint work?

Cool paint is a heat reflective paint and this paint has been designed to reflect more sunlight and absorb less heat than a standard roof.

Its application reduces the temperature of the ceiling and, consequently, reduces the ambient temperature.

In the case of air-conditioned spaces, energy consumption is reduced due to the decrease in the temperature gradient in the slab. Just as wearing light-colored clothing can help you stay cool on a sunny day, cool paint material is designed to reflect more sunlight and absorb less heat than a standard roof.

Cool Paint is made of a highly reflective type of paint using an aqueous emissivity coating based on acrylic resins. It is an ecological paint that, when applied on cement, asbestos or MS ceilings, increases the emissivity of that surface, which results in the reflection of thermal energy.

Apart from these non-conductive properties, it also provides insulating efficiency through its uniformity.

Cool paint Benefits

UV and infrared resistant: continuous rejection of solar heat results in a drastic reduction in roof heat.

Temperature rise due to heat radiation from the ceiling is halted, keeping the coated area comfortable even on peak summer afternoons Reflecting UV and IR rays back to the atmosphere.

Eliminates the need for false ceiling Can be coated in any material / roof side Prevents island effect Helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions and global warming In hot and humid locations, cool roof surfaces can be more susceptible to algae or mold growth than warm roofs.

Some roof coverings include special chemicals that prevent mold or algae growth for a few years. It does not contain solvents, it can be cleaned with water. Does not include toxic substance.

Application of Cool paint

Clean minerals to wash with water, bleaching powder (if necessary) Stir paint well before each use.

Apply the first coat with a brush on the clean, washed surface.

Apply second coat after a minimum gap of 3-4 hours. Make sure coated area does not come in contact with water for at least 2 hours.

After completing full coat, it should be allowed to cure. Can be applied by spray. , roller or brush, so it is a very simple job.

product that is easy to apply and can replace bulky conventional and standard insulation materials, and can improve or replace those existing materials.

Selection of good cool paint

A good cool paint has an SRI value of 121-123 Solar Reflectance Index (SRI)-incorporates solar reflectance and thermal emissivity in a single value.

The SRI measures the roof's ability to reject solar heat. Good cold paint has a SRI value of 122.

VOCs (volatile organic compounds) for cold paint should be between 1.2 and 1.34 g per liter.

It should not have any type of solvents and zero toxic substances. A good cold paint should be waterproof, dustproof, and resistant to monsoon fungus.

So how can reflective roof paint help a business owner to save money? The first thing to think about when it comes to saving money with reflective roof paint is that it reflects heat from the roof. Montclair painters Especially in the summer season, the temperature is reduced by proper roof painting. Also, cracks due to plant growth are kept in check by the paint that doesn't let the plant grow on the house roof.
